Professor Massalski earned his Ph.D. degree in Physical Metallurgy at the University of Birmingham in 1954. He is the associate editor of
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions and the editor of Progress in Materials Science, two highly accredited journals. He has also been the editor-in-chief of Bulletin of Alloy Phase Diagram for Binary Alloys. Professor Massalski is the author of more than 200 publications, invited papers and over 200 presentations which are extensively referenced papers in the citation index. He has received numerous honors and awards for his important contributions to metallurgy and materials science, among them are the following:Honors and Awards:
