Dr. Taylor earned his Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering at The University of Queensland in 1997. He is a senior research fellow at the Cooperative Research Center (CRC) for Alloy and Solidification Technology (CAST). CAST is a joint venture that brings together the resources of the University of Queensland and the Australian light metals industry. Dr. Taylor is also a member of the Australian Institute of Materials Engineering. He is the author of more than 20 publications and presentations.

Research Interests:

Aluminum foundry alloys research and developments including: castability, prosity formation, effects of melt quality and alloy composition, heat treatment, microstructure-mechanical property relationship, melt treatment, VDC casting.
